Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies
On Memorial Day, the community gathered to honor the country’s heroes. The sunny weather set a perfect tone for the day’s ceremonies. Many people assembled downtown for the parade. Groups like the VFW, Scouts, and other organizations joined the march to the bridge. At the bridge, a ceremony occurred to remember the servicemen buried at sea. The crowd then moved to Cook Cemetery for another tribute to the fallen.
Remembering the Fallen at Cook Cemetery
At Cook Cemetery, attendees participated in a ceremony to honor those who served and sacrificed. This event mirrored the earlier ceremony, offering a chance to reflect on their bravery and dedication. The cemetery, a peaceful location, provided the ideal setting for this tribute. It allowed everyone to pause and express gratitude for the freedoms they enjoy today.
The day’s activities reminded everyone of the sacrifices military personnel and their families continue to make. It was a time for reflection and appreciation of their unwavering commitment.
