Veterinarians John and Robin Fisher hosted an Open House Barbecue on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 10 am to 2 pm to introduce Jack Anderson, the new Veterinarian joining their clinic. Jack and his wife Renee and their sons Lane & Chase, who moved from Zumbrota to Fall Lake near Ely, are happy to be in the northland. Jack, who has nearly 30 years of veterinary service, has already been becoming acquainted with animals and their owners here. Renee will also be helping in this busy clinic.  Many area residents, neighbors, and animal owners were in attendance to meet and welcome the Andersons.  A number of the other clinic staff members were also in attendance.  The other staff members are Pam Myre, Diane Brunner, ad Kris Salmela.

Chris Vouk expertly grilled pork tenderloin for the delicious sandwiches which were enjoyed, accompanied by other lunch items.

John and Robin Fisher established their Veterinary Clinic in the 1980’s on the farm they purchased from Helen (the late Albert) Carlson in the Leander Community south of Cook.  Their two children, Ann and Kirk, were born and raised here. The Fishers soon became part of the community and area as they cared for the needs of large and small animals. The first few, years the clinic operated in the basement of their home until they added the lovely clinic facilities. They also enjoyed raising, training and racing sled dogs, camping (even winter camping),  fishing, and many other interests. Robin contributes feature articles for the Cook News Herald.
Congratulations on the addition to the staff at the clinic. We wish all of you the best as you continue to serve the animal family members of our area.
