Cook Carefree Living hosted National Night Out from 4 to 6 pm this evening, August 2, 2016.  Residents, their families, friends & neighbors enjoyed a lovely evening together . The staff served a delicious meal of brats & hot dogs with condiments, chips, watermelon, strawberry short cake, coffee and refreshing lemonade. Tables were set up in the parking area shaded from the heat by the building. People enjoyed the good food, visiting, and listening to and at times singing along with The Hutter Bunch as they provided instrumental and vocal music.

The members of the group are Smoke Weatherton on harmonica and J.J. Johnson on mandolin, both of Cook, Ralph Isaacson of Iron on fiddle, Laverne Hiestercamp on mandolin and banjo from Gheen, Darwin Aler, vocal and guitar and Richard Vandervort, guitar, both from Virginia. Completing the group is Art Maki on bass, the only member of the group from Hutter!    They will be performing in Cook again at the August 17th. Wednesday at Music in the Park from 6 to 8:30 pm.

Thank you to the Care Center (Spectrum) for hosting Cook’s National Night Out.  Orr Carefree Living Center also hosted a National Night Out Celebration for the Orr area.
