Painters group organizing at NWFA

Painters, would-be painters, and hopeful painters!  On Saturday, January 21, bring your enthusiasm and ideas for organizing a painter's group to Northwoods Friends of the Arts Gallery in Cook, Minnesota. Bring an existing painting, start a new one, or just visit and chat. We will decide whether to meet weekly or monthly. On Saturday, we will begin at 1 p.m. and end at 3.  Materials will be available to try a watercolor negative painting project or to experiment with acrylics on canvas. Try one of these or work on your own projects. Everyone welcome.  Contact Alberta Whitenack, 666-2153, for additional information.

Looking ahead to our February Focus at the Gallery in Cook

In Feb, 2017 we will focus on some folk art at the gallery with an antique quilt show in our newly expanded space, as well as some classes and events that relate. This will include a weaving class on 2/4, a needle felting class on 2/18, and we may have one or two specific classes with about some specific quilting/sewing skills, such as cathedral window and hand applique. We have a few other ideas in the works, so watch the local newspapers for more information.  We encourage members or community people with interests and skills in the folk arts to share them  with us in February or in the future.
